Now that Haley (my hair stylist of the past 7 years) is officially married and living with her husband in jolly old England, I had to go somewhere new. As part of a silent auction win, I had a gift certificate to Horst & Friends Salon. I’ve been using Intelligent Nutrient products for a while so this seemed like the exact place for me to visit. I finally made my appointment to see Jeanne for a simple color and cut. When the day finally came, I ventured to NE Mpls to this salon which opened in June of 2010.
Horst & Friends
The salon is really nice. It doubles as the packing/shipping warehouse although, since the product line is getting so huge, it’ll only be salon and retail soon.
Retail
I was wishing Horst would be there even though I knew that was a long shot. He’s famous. If you don’t know, then you need to brush up on your Minnesota history.
Jeanne was really nice and we had lots to talk about. We discussed the products and what I’ve used. I got to try some tea and she also gave me a shot of the Intellimune oil mixed with some organic mango juice. Nice. The shampoo station is in the back of the salon and you lay in these giant red leather beds. There is gorgeous art work and beautiful lighting everywhere.
Salon
Overall it was a really great place. Jeanne specializes in cutting hair and she really gave me an excellent cut. Just perfect. I’ll always miss seeing Haley and letting her do whatever she wanted to my hair but change is good, too.
